CONCORD - A new state liquor store planned at the Ridge Marketplace will boast twice the floor plan space of the Lilac Mall store and include an outdoor patio where wines can be sampled along with food from local restaurants.

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission made the announcement they would be moving from the Lilac Mall to the Ridge on Thursday.

Construction on the 20,000-square-foot store is expected to start in May and take about a year. Once the new liquor store opens, the existing Lilac Mall store will close.

The new store will also feature temperature- and humidity-controlled wine vaults and iPad stations for searching inventory and wine and food pairing suggestions, the commission said in a statement.
