ROCHESTER - Next time you visit the Library, check out the new vinyl murals on the side of the building near our garden. Also, there is still time to buy a flower bouquet at participating Hannaford that helps the Friends of the Library to help the Library!

Let's Change the World, One Bouquet at a Time! The Friends of the Library and the Hannafords on North Main Street and on Milton Road have teamed up to help RPL with their bouquets of flowers program. For every purchase of a $12.00 Bloomin' 4 Good Bouquet (the ones with the red circle sticker) $1.00 will be donated to the Friends of the Library. By buying a bouquet for yourself, for a friend or family member, you help support the Friends of the Library programs..

RPL Recommends Animated Videos

Main Desk Librarian (and syndicated cartoonist), Stephanie, and Main Desk Librarian, Karyl, have created a series of weekly animated videos recommending books, DVDs and other titles available at the Library. See them on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Kait's Picks

Assistant Librarian and popular Book Blogger, Kait, has a new list this week! She says: "Since my last list was about college books, this week I'm sharing some of my favorite post-college books! Art Talks for Art Lovers

The Library received a grant from New Hampshire Humanities to present a three part series from Art History scholar Jane Oneail. The first of this series was presented on Monday, September 20. The 2nd of these events will take place Monday, October 18 at 6 p.m. and the 3rd will be on November 8 part 3. The artists being discussed include Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Childe Hassam, and Maxfield Parrish are some of the artists discussed in this program.

This program is free and open to the public. You may register by emailing us at rplreference@rochesternh.net. Once we have received your email, we will send you the meeting link and information for the event. Call us at 603-332-1428 with any questions.

Children's Room

Fall Story Time: We are now offering six weeks of Story Times outside on the lawn. No registration is required. Story Times are held Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., where children enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes. A small take home activity is also available. Story Time is appropriate for ages 2-6, but the whole family is welcome to attend. We will make an announcement on Facebook by 9:30 a.m. if there is a cancelation due to weather. Watch our FB page & sign up for our email notifications at bit.ly/rplchnewsletter. Grass may be damp so don't forget a blanket or lawn chair!"

Story Time to Go: will continue for those who prefer using our curbside service. Reserve a themed pre-packed bag with library books, simple craft idea with directions, and a set of activities by calling the Children's Room at 603-335-7549. These kits are geared for kids age 2 through 6. Themes include: Pirates, space, monsters and more. Please let us know which theme(s) you would like, and for what age range.

Wall Art

The Commission for Arts & Culture, for the City of Rochester worked with a diverse group of NH artists to create vinyl wall murals as part of an Art Walk and now posted on buildings around town including the Library. Check them out next time you visit.
