New Year's Eve escape from halfway house could cost inmate another seven years

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A New Year's Eve runaway from a Manchester halfway house may leave one inmate with a forced resolution to spend another three and a half to seven years in prison.

Zachary Ryan Robinson, 24, with no current formal address but who formerly lived in Dover, ran from the facility after he was found to have in his possession a cellphone which is considered contraband and prohibited at the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit on Lowell Street.

After the discovery Robinson bolted from the facility around 7 p.m.

Robinson is described as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He was sentenced in Strafford County Superior Court on June 16, 2015 to three concurrent sentences of 3 ½ - 7 years for Receiving Stolen Property, Robbery, and Reckless Conduct. He received 732 days of time served credited to his sentence, He was eligible for parole on December 9, 2016. His maximum release date is June 11, 2023.

Robinson is no stranger to local police. In December 2014, while living on Whittier Street in Dover, he was charged with unarmed robbery after an incident at Circle K.

That same month he was charged with two counts of forgery.

The DOC Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Robinson is encouraged to call the NH State Police or their local law enforcement agency.

A walkaway from a Corrections Transitional Housing Unit is considered to be an escape which is a Class B felony punishable by 3 ½ - 7 years in prison.
