Newmarket man fatally shot during police incident in Maine

NORTH WATERBORO, Maine - A New Hampshire man was fatally shot during a struggle with a York County Sheriff's deputy on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 6:48 p.m. as deputies responded to a residence on Rosemont Avenue in North Waterboro for a reported disturbance.

During the course of the investigation, deputies attempted to take Tyler Woodburn, 30 of Newmarket, N.H. into custody, prompting a struggle during which shots were fired by Deputy Levi Johnson.

Woodburn was pronounced dead at the scene, and Johnson has been placed on administrative leave, standard protocol while the Attorney General's Office investigates the use of deadly force.
