North Berwick man, child among those killed in Berwick crash

BERWICK, Maine - The victims in Saturday's deadly head-on collision on Route 4 were identified by Berwick Police late Sunday night.

Police say that the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when a 1994 Honda Civic operated by a 31-year-old male of Buxton lost control following an improper pass and slid into the path of a 2014 Ford Explorer operated by a 46-year-old female from Woburn, Mass.

The three male occupants of the Honda, including the driver, Robert Howard, 31, and passengers 29-year-old Kevin Clark and 7-year-old Davin Clark, both of North Berwick, died at the scene.

Barbara Allen, 73, of Wells, a passenger in the Ford, died later at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H.

A 22-year-old female passenger of the Honda, K-La Scott, of Gorham, suffered serious but nonlife threatening injuries, while the driver of the Ford, Hope Stamps, 46, and two of its passengers, 49-year-old Eurie Stamps and 17-year-old Shannon Stamps, both of Woburn, suffered nonlife threatening injuries.

The stretch of road where the accident occurred is about a mile from the Links at Outlook golf course. The road remained closed for about seven hours during an investigation of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Berwick Police.
