MILTON - As Milton mourns one of its own, a visit by one of the hottest, most innovative musical groups in the country is hoped to comfort and re-inspire Nute High/Middle School students who lost a fellow student in a tragic car crash on Sunday morning.

Principal Jan Radowicz took to social media on Monday to announce that a school visit by Recycled Percussion, the percussion group that rose to fame on "America's Got Talent," had been scheduled for today.

She said on the Milton PTA Facebook page that after it was learned that a 16-year-old Nute student died in a crash on Hare Road on Sunday morning they had discussed whether to cancel the concert, but decided against it for several reasons.

"On Sunday, we debated whether to cancel this presentation, but we have decided that their message inspiring students to be the best they can be while also showing kindness could be beneficial," Radowicz wrote.

Recycled Percussion started in Manchester; they use the name Recycled Percussion because they made drums out of old buckets and other materials.

They perform around the country, including Vegas and here in New Hampshire.

The group also wants to continue to give back to New Hampshire, so they visit schools to give inspirational messages of empathy, love, and kindness. Just recently they visited Farmington High School.

The band's presentation will come at the end of the school day today.

Meanwhile, on Monday Milton School District Superintendent Irwin Sussman said grief counselors are on hand at Nute High/Middle School to help students and staff cope with the loss of the student.

The teen was in a Toyota Camry with four others when it rolled over in the area of 484 Hare Road around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and struck a tree.

The teen who died and another motorist were both ejected from the vehicle, which crashed at the bottom of a hill in a portion of the road that is not paved.

Four occupants, including the other teen who was ejected were all transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.

The name of the deceased has not been released by officials or family members, so The Rochester Voice has decided not to publish his name until it is officially released out of respect for the family.
