ROCHESTER - William George Kingsbury, 95 of Rochester died Monday, September 2, 2013 peacefully at the Rochester Manor. He was born on May 1, 1918 in Sanford, Maine, a son of Myrtle (Call) and W. Clyde Kingsbury. He was educated in the Sanford, Maine, schools and joined the Maine National Guard before entering the U.S. Army in October 1942. He served with the 289th Ordnance Company and saw action in the Southern Pacific Theater.

William worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 26 years and then enjoyed working for another 26 years in retirement at the Rochester McDonalds.

William was a faithful member of the Rochester Salvation Army for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois E. Kingsbury of Rochester, his two sons, Paul Kingsbury of Rochester, Mark Kingsbury and wife Sharon of Sunbury, Pa.; his daughters, Beverly Kelly and Tom of Scranton, Pa., Nancy Peavey and husband William of Gonic, and his sister Barbara Capone of Lewiston, Maine.

He was predeceased by his son Donald William Kingsbury of Arizona, two brothers and one sister.

ARRANGEMENTS

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 10 Olde Farm Lane, Rochester, N.H.
