ROCHESTER - William Ross, 55, of Rochester passed away after a period of declining health at Frisbie Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. A native of Barrington, William was the son of Shepley and Virginia Ross. A graduate of Spaulding High and UNH, he lived the majority of his life in Rochester. 

He was an avid musician who loved to play the guitar. He was an accomplished songwriter and played in many bands. He was a collector and an artist. He loved chocolate, telling jokes, and spending time at camp. Most importantly, he loved his family and was an amazing father, son, and brother.

William is survived by his parents, Shepley and Virginia of Barrington; his son Corey W. Ross of Rochester; two daughters, Trisha Anderson and her husband Kevin of Brighton, Mass., Katie Ross and her boyfriend Matt of Elliot, Maine; his longtime love and friend, Gwen Ross of Rochester; his brother Shepley Ross Jr. and his wife Karen of Auburn, Maine; two sisters, Judy Frase and her husband Steve of Strafford, Karen Harton and her husband Tom of Barrington; and many nieces and nephews. 

William is also survived by his many friends, and he will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Edgerly Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Edgerly Funeral Home with interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Barrington.
