ROCHESTER - What started out as a police call for teens fighting on Olde Farm Lane ended up with a middle-aged Rochester couple being arrested after they became aggressive with investigating officers.

Police responded to a call for kids fighting around 10 p.m. on Friday, but when they showed up at the scene it was the adults who were out of line, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.

Thomas said during questioning of what happened, Laura Eaton, 43, of 11 Olde Farm Lane, Apt. 2, began yelling and was warned several times by an officer to stop. But she continued yelling and at one point pushed an officer, police say.

Meanwhile Shawn Eaton, 42, same address, also showed some aggression, police said, pushing a separate civilian individual who tried to intervene.

After seeing the alleged assault officers went to arrest Shawn Eaton, but he resisted. Then, once handcuffed, he refused to get in the cruiser, according to police.

Shawn Eaton was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for the assault and two Class B misdemeanors for resisting arrest. He refused bail and was to be arraigned today.

Laura Eaton was charged with disorderly conduct (B Misd.) and simple assault on an officer (A Misd). She was held on $500 bail and was also expected to be arraigned today.

Meanwhile, the young people thought to have been fighting were nowhere to be found, apparently running away as officers arrived.
