ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was injured on Monday in a two-car collision at the corner of Old Dover and Tibbetts roads, the site of numerous accidents in the recent past.

Preliminary investigation shows the 10 a.m. crash occurred when a 2011 Chevrolet 1500 pickup, driven by Ernest Belleville, 68, of Barrington, N.H., was travelling southwest on Tibbetts Road when he entered the intersection of Old Dover Road striking a southbound 1999 Dodge Durango.

The Dodge was driven by Almon Cole Sr., 73, of Rochester.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.  Cole’s passenger, Caroline Cole, 74, was transported from the scene to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Old Dover Road was closed to traffic for approximately 30 minutes during the investigation.

Belleville was found to have failed to yield the right of way and was cited.

The Rochester Police are urging drivers to take note that this is not a 4-way stop and the traffic on Old Dover Road has the right of way.
