One injured in Carl Broggi accident

LEBANON - One man was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries on Tuesday after the SUV he was driving collided with another vehicle on Carl Broggi Highway.

The accident occurred near M&M auto sales around 6:20 p.m.

When rescue crews arrived they found the SUV was about 200 feet from where it struck a Chevrolet pickup, which was reportedly headed west when the collision occurred.

According to a Rescue Department press release the SUV was headed east when it crossed the center line and hit the pickup.

The driver of the SUV was a 33-year-old male from Rochester, N.H. He was alone in the SUV and was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

The occupants of the Chevrolet truck were from the same family and included a 30-year-old male driver and three passengers, a 30-year-old female, an 11-year-old male and a 2-year-old male.

The hometown of the pickup truck occupants was not released.

They were evaluated at the scene by Lebanon Rescue personnel.

The Lebanon Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Carl Broggi Highway was closed to one lane until about 7:40 p.m. when the vehicles were removed. and emergency crews cleared the scene.

The accident is under investigation by Trooper Kyle Wells of the Maine State Police.
