ROCHESTER - For many New Year's Eve revelers, the planning of how to have a festive celebration while staying safe and getting home in one piece is in full gear today.

Some may book a hotel, others may make arrangements for a designated driver or taxi and still more of us will just stay home.

But for almost 36 years Ed Feliciano of Feliciano Limousine of Rochester has had another option, a better one, he says.

Rent a limo, or a bus, or a limo bus.

"That way you don't have to worry about drinking and driving," he said between booking calls for limos and town cars at his Chestnut Street office on Tuesday. "Folks can bring their own alcohol and have a party and not worry about anything."

Feliciano Limousine has a fleet of 16 vehicles, including a Hummer stretch, three other stretch limos, town cars, passenger vans and limo coaches that even come with a bathroom.

The stretch limousines come fully loadeds. One of them carries up to 10 passengers and includes color TV, stereo, CD and Ipod, USB ports, passenger controlled heat and AC, complimentary bar setup with ice, glasses and refreshments, and even a privacy partition.

"I'm not going to say anything, but when I get out of the business, I'm writing a book," Feliciano chuckled when asked about the privacy partition. "We don't say what goes on in the vehicle."

What is clear is that what goes on in the vehicle is that folks have a great time, he said.

"If you get a designated driver (for New Years Eve), that guy wants to go home at 9," he said. "This way everyone has a great time. That's one reason why they take the limo, everyone gets home safe. So instead of spending a couple hundred bucks on a hotel, you get home safe and sleep in your own bed."

Prices for his limousines vary from around $85-$110 an hour, while a limo coach (holds about 20) will run you about $155 an hour. The limos hold 6-10 people so if you split the cost, it's pretty reasonable.

Chauffers stay with the vehicle the whole time, Feliciano said, usually outside the club or restaurant where folks are eating or partying.

Feliciano said typical New Year's Eve destinations are First Night Boston, the Old Port in Portland and Portsmouth.

And how late will they drive you around New Year's Eve?

"Till the credit card goes void," he smiles.

By the way, the proper tip for the chauffer? Fifteen- to 20-percent, he says.

Feliciano says he still has a couple of stretches and a limo bus available for Saturday night. He'll even throw in some complimentary bubbly for the ride.
