One sent to hospital in Rochester Hill Road collision

ROCHESTER - A woman was injured today when her vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Whitehall and Rochester Hill roads.

According to Rochester Police, the accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. when a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by John Johnstone, 81, of Rochester attempted to cross Rochester Hill Road from Harding Street to Whitehall Road when his vehicle struck a northbound Buick Century traveling on Rochester Hill Road. 

The Buick was driven by Pammy Lee McKinney, 41, of Raymond, N.H., who was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Johnstone was not hurt.

There was extensive damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.

Johnstone was warned for failing to yield the right of way.

Rochester Hill Road was reduced to one lane in the area of the accident for about a half hour.
