ROCHESTER - Paul R. Gagne, 68, of 70 Seneca St. died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital after a brief illness.

Born April 17, 1946 in Newburyport, Mass., he was the son of Thomas and Ruth (Teal) Gagne and Wilfred and Olga (Gamola) Buzzell.

Paul lived in Rochester for just over a year after moving from Haverhill, Mass. where he lived for over 50 years. He worked professionally as both a Master Barber and an Upholsterer, and before retiring he worked at Royale Limousine in Haverhill, Mass. Paul proudly served in the Navy during Vietnam from 1965 to 1969 and in the Navy Reserves for 13 additional years. He served aboard several ships including the USS St. Paul, USS Mahan and he finished his career on the USS Miller. He was a Navy man until the end and was a member of the USS St. Paul Association. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandsons.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene (Oleson) Gagne, his daughters Monica Woods of Stamford, Conn. and Adrienne Marcellos of Rochester, his son-in-law Matthew Woods and his beloved grandsons Evan and Owen Woods. He is also survived by his siblings Henry Gagne and Rosemary Leo of FL, Albert Gagne of Maine, Robert Gagne, Virginia Woods, and Josephine Bennett of Mass., Arthur Gagne of N.H., and Doris Perugini of N.Y., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Bruce Gagne and his son-in-law James Marcellos.
