ROCHESTER - A Somersworth man was injured in the midst of last night's snowstorm when he was struck by an SUV while walking along Haven Hill Road.

The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the area of Rocky Hill Road when police say Michael Sprague of Somersworth was walking on Haven Hill Road, toward Salmon Falls Road when he was struck from behind by a Jeep Cherokee operated by Stephen Young, 51, of Rochester.

Sprague was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife threatening injuries. Minor damage was caused to the Jeep. The collision remains under investigation, however weather and visibility appear to be contributing factors.

It wasn't clear which side of the road Sprague was walking on, but damage to the passenger side of the Jeep would suggest he was on the north side of Haven Hill Road.

Sprague's age was not released.
