ROCHESTER - Phyllis W. Tucker, 82, of Rochester, died Jan. 18, 2024, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital with her family by her side.

Born Feb. 19, 1941, in Boston MA to G. Philip and Catherine M. (Whittemore) Whitman.

She graduated Stamford (Conn.) High School in 1959 and attended Vermont College in Montpelier Vt. She traveled extensively with her parents as a child as her father served in WWII.

Phyllis was a loving mother to her 5 children. She worked for 20 years at R.E. White Company as an executive secretary. Phyllis and her late husband, Charles R. Tucker, especially enjoyed traveling the East Coast and Canada. She enjoyed fishing with her husband in the lake's region of Quebec. She also enjoyed spending summers at the family Camp Kafrema on Tuftonboro Neck on Lake Winnipesaukee and working at the old Yum Yum shop where she met her lhusband. She and her husband raised their children in West Hartford, Conn., before moving to Rochester. Phyllis was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles (finishing them in ink!), knitting and spending winters in Florida.

Members of her family include; her late son, Mark R. Tucker (predeceased) of Manchester, daughter Shelley A. Jolie (Jeffrey) of Deep River Conn., son Mark E. McLenna of Waterbury, Conn., and daughters; Elizabeth M. Bonacci (William) of Newmarket, Catherine T. Reddington (Michael) of Rye, her brothers William Whitman (Margaret) of Florida, Richard Whitman (Bonnie) of Melbourne, Fla., and sister, Deborah Whitman of Maine, her 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
