Physical therapist charged in sex assault on patient arrested last May in DV case

ROCHESTER - The Rochester physical therapist arrested Friday for alleged sex assault and inappropriate touching of a patient is also facing charges in a domestic violence incident last May.

Patrick James O'Donnell, 56, with a last known address of Gonic Road, is facing one Class A misdemeanor charge of DV simple assault and two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief in the May 31 incident.

The arrest complaint alleges O'Donnell "knowingly caused unprivileged physical contact against another ... by use of physical force, when he threw a beer in the direction of (the victim) causing her to get hit with the liquid."

At the time O'Donnell was released on $500 PR bond.

A criminal bail protective order was filed on Aug. 5 ordering, "no contact with (the victim), no firearms, destructive device, dangerous weapon, no alcohol or drugs, and no entry (at victim's residence) without police escort."

A case status hearing for the May incident is set for April 19 in Rochester Circuit Court.

In the charges filed Friday O'Donnell, a physical therapist at Orthopedic and Sport Therapy Services of Rochester, is accused of inappropriately touching a patient, practicing with an expired license and violating bail conditions from a prior arrest.

He was released on $500 cash bail and will be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court at a date not yet determined.

Rochester Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Services was not immediately available for comment.
