Police impersonator cops kids' baseball bat

ROCHESTER - Police are on the lookout for a police impersonator after two juveniles reported an incident on Saturday in which a man took away their baseball bat on Hanson Street.

The report was filed around 4:50 p.m. The youngsters said they were walking down Hanson Street in the downtown area when an older model black and white Ford Crown Victoria pulled up next to them with blue lights flashing in the windshield. A man got out of the car, approached the juveniles and advised them that it was illegal to be carrying a baseball bat down the street in Rochester.

He then introduced himself as a police officer, took the baseball bat and drove north on Wakefield Street.

The man was described as being approximately 5-feet-9 inches tall, with a medium build and clean shaven, and wearing a uniform with one arm patch on the left side of his uniform sleeve, a badge, and a duty belt.
