SCARBOROUGH, Maine - The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and Scarborough Police are investigating the death of an 82-yearold Scarborough man they say was attacked in his front year Sunday morning.
Police responded to 193 Beech Ridge Road in Scarborough where they say James Pearson was attacked in his front yard by an unknown assailant around 8:15 a.m.
Scarborough Rescue transported Pearson to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
State Police and Scarborough Police were on scene all day Sunday conducting interviews and processing the crime scene. Residents are being urged to be aware of their surroundings and report any unusual activities to police.
