Police probe BB-gun shootings at Gonic Trails parking lot

GONIC - Police are investigating an incident at the Isinglass Park trails in which two women were shot by a BB gun Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. when a group of individuals were in the trails parking lot off Rochester Neck Road when someone from a passing vehicle apparently shot a BB gun at them, Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas said today.

Two adult females were struck in the leg, but refused medical attention.

Witnesses said they saw two white cars traveling from Dover toward Rochester at the time, so they assumed one of the cars had someone shooting BBs out of it, police indicated.

The vehicles were described by witnesses as white or silver sedans, but no further description of the vehicles was available, Thomas said.

Rochester Police patrolled the area but had no success locating any suspects.

Thomas added they're hoping police will receives some tips from the public that might lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7127.

People can also anonymously provide information by calling the Rochester CrimeLine at 603-335-6500 or by texting tips to CRIMES (274637). Individuals can receive up to $1,000 for tips that lead to an arrest.
