Police probe death of York man found floating in harbor

YORK, Maine - Police continue to investigate the cause of death of a York man whose body was found in York harbor on Saturday.

The body of 49-year-old Michael Jancovic of York was found floating in waters off Maine.Town Dock 1 (Harris Island Road) around 10:45 a.m. by two young men who were fishing, according to a statement from York Police on Monday.

York Police responded and with the help of a citizen, used a dinghy to bring the male to shore where CPR. was performed. The victim was transported to York Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Jancovic is survived by a wife and two children. The death is not believed to be suspicious, according to police.
