Police probe suspected murder-suicide of female, child in Pembroke

PEMBROKE - An investigation into the suspicious deaths of an adult female and minor child today in Pembroke is under way.

Police got involved around 1 a.m. in response to a 911 call to a single-family residence in Pembroke.

Upon entering the home, they made contact with the reporting party and discovered an adult female and a minor child that were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a release from the Attorney Generals Office.

The minor child was transported to Concord Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, and the adult female was pronounced deceased inside the residence.

At this time, authorities are investigating this as a possible murder and suicide of the two residents living at that location.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available following autopsies scheduled for later today on both individuals.
