Police probe whether Durham fatal stabbing was in self defense

CONCORD - State and Durham Police today continue to investigate the death of a Durham man they say was fatally stabbed in the neck.

The autopsy conducted Sunday on Alexander Talcott, 41, also concluded the death was a result of homicide, which means he was killed by another individual.

Talcott was pronounced deceased in his home early Saturday morning during an incident currently under active investigation.

The parties involved in the incident have been identified and based on the information known to investigators there is no danger to the public.

The investigation into Talcott's death is ongoing and includes whether the person who stabbed him acted in self-defense.
