Rochester area residents proved it once again.

You give them a couple of snowstorms to drive through and they learn real fast.

Area police reported few storm-related accidents during Monday's ice-, sleet- and snow-filled event in which six or so inches of precip piled up.

Rochester Police reported only a handful of accidents, all with no serious injury, while police in Milton, Farmington and Lebanon, Maine, Fire and EMS reported no accidents.

"I think people had a different approach this storm," said Farmington Police Capt. Scott Orlando. "They knew after driving through a couple of storms earlier this month to slow down."

Meanwhile, C & J buses from Logan International Airport and South Station in Boston to Dover were on a modified schedule throughout the storm.

Passengers, including this writer, were told to buckle their seat belts after the bus went into a slight skid just south of Rowley, Mass.

Speeds were immediately dropped from 50 or 60 mph down to around 30 mph for the duration of the trip to Portsmouth and Dover.

Both the Spaulding and many secondary roads remained snow covered

"The roads were very slick and at times there were white-out condition, but if you took it slow, you made it home," said one motorist.
