ROCHESTER - Police are looking for the public's help in identifying a shoplifter who stole numerous items from the North Main Street Hannaford's in October.

The theft occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 27 when a female, thought to be from the area, walked into Hannaford's, filled a cart with almost $100 worth of groceries and left without paying.

Loss prevention personnel witnessed the incident and confronted the woman but were unable to stop her.

Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said police were called to the scene but witnesses said the woman had left in a Volvo.

Police chased down a number of leads that didn't pan out and are now asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect, Boudreau said.

Anyone who may think they know the suspect or anything about the crime is asked to call Rochester Police at (603) 330-7127.
