Police seek Rochester Rite Aid robbery suspect

ROCHESTER - Police say a store clerk who confronted a man as he attempted to leave with several items was assaulted before the suspect ran off and fled in a vehicle parked at a nearby business.

The bizarre incident occurred at the Wakefield Street Rite Aid when police say a male entered the store with a bag and had taken numerous items throughout the store. When he attempted to leave the store clerk attempted to block the man’s exit upon which the clerk was assaulted.

No word on his condition was available.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18-21 years old, 5-foot-6, with a slight build, unshaven face and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon T-shirt and plaid shorts, police said.
