Police seek to identify woman found dead in breakdown lane on Intersate 89

HOPKINTON - An autopsy conducted on an unidentified woman found dead in the breakdown lane of Interstate 89 in Hopkinton early Monday has determined her death was blunt impact head injuries, and the manner of death is pending investigation.

To help identify the individual, police are releasing a photograph of a tattoo located on the small of her back, on the left side. The image, showing a bird feather and birds flying from it, has been enhanced for clarity.

Police responded to a report of a woman lying in the I-89 north breakdown lane early Sunday around 12:15 a.m. Her body was found by police near mile marker 7.2.

Investigators are seeking additional information to include assistance identifying the deceased female, who is

described as white, with strawberry blonde-red hair, blue eyes, around 18-30 years of age, 5'01" and around 110 pounds.

Police said she had neon green finger and toenails and the tattoo on her back

Police are asking the public if they saw and suspicious behavior of an individual or any motor vehicle stopped on the northbound side of I-89 in Hopkinton anytime between Sunday at 11:25 p.m. and Monday at 12:15 a.m.
