ROCHESTER - Rochester's first-ever PorchFest promises a prolific potpourri of musical performances like the city has never seen before.

The brainchild of Rochester Opera House producer and Governor's Inn co-owner Anthony Ejarque, PorchFest productions have been taking the country by storm, but this is the first one ever in the Northern Seacoast.

PorchFest comprises some 30 bands that will play at various venues throughout the downtown from Noon-5 p.m.

Some will be in the earshot of other bands, but Matt Wyatt, co-founder of the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts and associated producer at the Rochester Opera House, said that's part of the mosaic of music they want eventgoers to experience.

Bands will play from dozens of venues around the downtown.

All of the musical acts are free to everyone, however folks can buy a $10 fund-raising bracelet that will be good for discounts at various stores around the downtown.

There will also be an after party at the Rochester Opera House featuring renowned local band Red Sky Mary for a suggested fund-raising donation.

In addition food trucks and a few other vendors will set up in the Union Street parking lot. More info is available at www.rochesteoperahouse.com.

The musical genres are varied and wide ranging, Wyatt said.

Participating restaurants and shops will be offering specials and discounts to attendees wearing the all-access bracelets.
