ALFRED, Maine - A Portland man has been indicted in a criminal threatening case involving a firearm in Lebanon.

William Riffert, 22, of 69 Bolton St., 2nd Floor, is charged with felony criminal threatening with a weapon and felony reckless conduct with a weapon in a Nov. 10 incident.

A Portsmouth, N.H., police report from Nov. 10 alludes to their assisting in his arrest. An entry from their log of Nov. 10 states: "Nov. 10 5:27 p.m.: Assisted Maine State Police with locating a man alleged to have pointed a gun at someone in Lebanon, Maine. The man was found and taken into custody in Maine and also booked on Portsmouth charges of criminal threatening and disorderly conduct. He was identified as William Riffert, 22, of 163 Odiorne Point Road, Portsmouth."

Several calls to Maine State Police seeking additional information on the Lebanon incident were not returned.

Riffert was convicted of a similar reckless conduct case in Maine in 2004.

The York County grand jury indictments were handed down and released earlier this month.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that a grand jury has found sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
