MANCHESTER - A woman was killed when she was struck by a commercial vehicle while standing outside of a vehicle in the breakdown lane on Interstate 93 on Thursday.
Police responded shortly after noon to I-93 northbound in Manchester, just north of the I-293 split where they learned the woman had been struck.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene, and her name is being withheld pending an ongoing investigation.
The driver of the commercial vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating, safety officials say. Troopers did not detect any sign of criminal conduct by the involved driver.
During the investigation, all lanes of I-93 northbound were closed near Exit 6, and traffic was diverted to I-293.
