DOVER - The Strafford County Sheriff's Office will present a public safety Drone Expo behind the Strafford County Courthouse on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The event will be open each day, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in the evenings from 6-9 p.m.

The Sheriff's Emergency Management Department's Search and Rescue team operates the most advanced drone unit in the state flying equipment only operated by a few units of its type in all of New England.

During the event the public will be able to view the latest drone equipment being operated live across the unit's training fields adjacent to the courthouse. Additionally other teams across the region have been invited to participate and showcase their equipment and flight skills.

Sheriff Mark Brave encourages members of the public to stop by and get a firsthand view of what drone technology brings to the public safety environment. Several training devices will also be available to allow visitors to experience flight first hand. Children and young adults are also invited to attend the event and experience this rapidly growing technology and career field.

Free parking is available in the parking lots at the courthouse, with best viewing on the westerly side of the courthouse near the County Farm Crossroad entrance.

For further information please contact the Sheriff's Emergency Management Department directly at 603-516-7171.
