SOUTH LEBANON, Maine - A railroad crossing sign at the foot of Prospect Hill Road that was knocked down due to a car crash Thursday night is being repaired and should be working later today.
The work is being done by Pratt Railway Services of Westborough, Mass.
Edward Settle, president of the company, said the driver of the car who knocked it down called New Hampshire Northcoast Railway right after the crash.
"He said he backed into it by mistake," said Settle, adding the sign is designed to break easily upon slow-speed impact for safety reasons.
