ROCHESTER - It is vital to city residents' health and safety that hydrants are shoveled out following a winter snowstorm, and water department officials released a statement saying they were very pleased with the effort during the storm last month.
"Your efforts ensure faster access to critical water sources during emergencies, improving the safety of all residents," the release stated. "Your commitment and teamwork are truly appreciated and make a meaningful difference in keeping Rochester safe."
Residents are always urged to shovel out hydrants near their homes following any measurable snow event.
