Residents invited to selectmen's meeting to discuss town's recreational marijuana moratoriums

LEBANON - Lebanon's extension of the Marijuana Moratorium is on the agenda for the Select Board meeting this afternoon at 5:15 p.m.

Last year residents voted to establish special moratoriums associated with the legalization of recreational marijuana, including retail marijuana shops and social clubs, retail marijuana testing facilities and retail marijuana products and cultivation facilities.

The meeting comes as state regulators push ever closer to determining guidelines under which the various establishments and facilities could exist.

Last month the state Legislature passed laws that would regulate the recreational marijuana industry, but Gov. Paul LePage has threatened a veto.

LePage could also refuse to sign the bill.
