ROCHESTER - Richard Lawrence Gadbois, 76, died on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital after a short period of failing health. Dick was born on Feb. 17, 1944, in Dover. He was married to Jane Gadbois for 55 years.
Richard worked for the City of Dover Water Department for 37 years; he took much pride in his many years working for the City of Dover.
After retirement Dick and Jane, moved to Lake Ossipee, where he and his family had many fond memories and made many lifelong friends. In 2005 they moved to Rochester to be closer to family and their grandchild. Dick loved to socialize and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
He was survived by his wife, Jane Gadbois, son Richard Gadbois, Jr. and wife Annette Gadbois; daughter Lori Denis and husband Scott Denis, three grandchildren Libby, Sophie and Gabe; siblings Fran Lloyd, Walter Gadbois and wife Gail, Anita Martin, Pam Drew, Teri and husband Marek Filit, brother-in-law Michael Hinkle, sister-in-law Cheryl Hinkle, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father Leo Gadbois, Sr. and mother Charlotte Cole, brother Leo Gadbois, Jr. and sister Carol Cassell, mother-in-law Lee Schwengel, father-in-law Lester Hinkle, Sr. and brother-in-laws Lester Hinkle Jr., George Lloyd Sr., Robert Martin and Mark Drew, and great niece Karlee Drew.
