ROCHESTER - Richard J. "Dick" Sylvain, 81, of Rochester, N.H., died on Saturday, June 11, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a resident of Rochester and Somersworth.
Dick was born in 1934, the son of Joseph and Eliza (Carignan) Sylvain. He was a local businessman for most of his life and continued to work most recently at Holy Rosary Credit Union. He served on the board at the credit union for many years and currently was a trustee.
Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Muriel, his daughter Monique Demers and her husband Robert Jr., of Dover, N.H.; his son, Gregory and his wife Pamela of Bedford, N.H.; his second daughter Denise Murray of Rochester, and last daughter Beth Goscinski and her husband William, of Somersworth. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John Sylvain and wife Jean of Rochester, his sister Rita Dusseault of Somersworth, and his sister in law Jeanne Sylvain of Rochester. He was predeceased by his infant son Christopher and two brothers, Robert and Paul Sylvain.
