ROCHESTER - Richard Paul Marchand, 58, died Friday, February 19, 2021, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a long illness.
Rick was born in Rochester on June 26, 1962, to Franklin Paul and Florence Theresa Blanchette Marchand. After graduating from Spaulding High School in 1980, Rick attended New Hampshire Vocational Technical Institute - Portsmouth where he trained to be an electrician. He owned and operated Rick Marchand Electric & Alarm Co., for over 40 years.
Rick was an active member of the Rochester American Legion Post 7, the Rochester Elks Lodge #1393, and the Victory Club. He had a loud, infectious belly-laugh and a quick wit. Rick had a one-liner for every situation and enjoyed making others laugh. He enjoyed electronics, photography, dogs, and spending time with loved ones.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Florence, as well as his beloved dog, Chelsea. He is also predeceased by his cousin, Paula Dallaire Davis and her husband, John, and their daughter, Denise, to whom he was close.
He leaves to cherish his memory his longtime friend and companion, Lori Cavanaugh of Rochester; his sister, Gail Marchand Varney and her husband, Albert "Ray," of Rochester; and his niece Kim Varney Chandler and her husband, Marshell, of Hancock. Rick also leaves his cousins, Dana Davis, Donna Keelty, Diane Davis Nicol, Debbie Davis, Darcy Graham, and Deanna MacDonald.
