LEBANON - Mike Feener has no clue how many miles he’ll be putting down on his motorcycle this summer, but if he hits all the points of interest he intends, it looks to be about 10,000.

A St. John, New Brunswick, native, Feener and a bunch of his friends stopped to take a break on Center Road this week while on their way to Motorcycle Week in Laconia.

After hanging out at The Weirs a few days, he said, his posse would be headed back to New Brunswick, but he would be taking off on the trip of a lifetime.

The 56-year-old said he’d be headed first to Key West, Fla., then over to Los Angeles than up to Anchorage, Alaska, back southeast through much of the Yukon territories, through Alberta and Saskatchewan and back into the states and Montana, then east back through Maine and back to St. John.

His longest trip on the bike, a BMW 1600, prior to this one was to Alabama and back.

He said he really has no plans where to stay during what is expected to be a three-month odyssey. “Wherever,” he said with a shrug.

Asked why he’s doing it, another shrug. “Just to see it, just to say I did it.”
