Road closures, race details for Moms on the Run Mother's Day 5K

DOVER - The following road closures will be in effect during the annual Moms on the Run Mother's Day 5K event on Sunday.

List of road closures

 Exit 7 southbound off- and on-ramp from the Spaulding Turnpike (9:30 AM to 10:00 AM)

 Bellamy Road, in the northerly direction from Durham Road to Cataract Avenue (9:30 AM to 10:30 AM)

 Rutland Street between Cataract Avenue and Central Avenue (9:30 AM to 10:30 AM)

 Cataract Avenue (9:30 AM to 10:00 AM)  Alumni Drive (9:30 AM to 10:45 AM)

Event details.

The run begins at 9:30 at the Dover High School, 25 Alumni Drive in Dover.

The course ends at the same location.

It should be noted that all road closure times have been adjusted back by ½ hour than in previous years. This is because the 5K race start time has been changed from 9 to 9:30 in an effort to minimize impact to scheduled church services at Saint John's United Methodist Church on Cataract Avenue.

Motorists should expect delays at the Central Avenue/Mill Street/Exit 7 intersection, and a lane shift along Route 108 between Rutland Street and Bellamy Road. Dover police personnel and a number of event volunteers will be on hand to help manage the flow of traffic along the race route.
