AUBURN, Maine - Robert J. Baribeault, 68, of Oxford, died on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Hospice House with his family by his side. He was born in Rochester, N.H., on March 3, 1949, the son of Horace and Adelaid Byron Baribeault.
He graduated from high school and vocational tech college and had been employed as a CNC programmer for General Electric in Somersworth, N.H., for 28 years. Upon moving to Maine he worked for Grover Gundrilling for 10 years.
He married Mary Portrie on November 22, 1969. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge in Rochester. He enjoyed tinkering and had been a drag racer for 38 years. His family and friends were very important to him.
He is survived by his wife of Oxford; a daughter, Leslie Nichols and her husband Kevin of Oxford; grandchildren, Morgan Nichols and Naomi Nichols; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Ward of Rochester.; nieces, Lisa Desmarais and her husband Tim Morgan and Nancy Carrigan and her husband Mike of Rochester; brother-in-law, Arthur Gagnon of Rochester; nephew, Robert Gagnon of Rochester; as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
