FORT MYERS, Fla. - Robert (Bob) Wayne Emerson died on Oct. 1, 2022, in Ft Myers. He was 86 years old. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Rochester, N.H.. Bob graduated from New Hampshire Vocational Technical College as a machinist. He and his wife Sally Ann (Green) raised their four sons in Rochester, where he also served on the volunteer fire department and worked as a police officer for several years. Bob moved to Ft. Myers after his retirement from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Bob loved living by the water in the Florida warmth. He enjoyed fishing, boating, watching nature on the canal, and doing odd jobs for friends in his retirement community. He could fix or repair almost anything. Bob was predeceased by his wife Sally in 2006. He was blessed with a second love in his life, Lawreta May (Cassidy) Emerson. He spent thirteen years with her before her death in August. Bob was a much-loved dad and grampa. He greatly enjoyed visits with his sons and their families. His simple words in closing conversations or parting with his sons and grandsons will always be remembered, "love you son."

Bob is survived by his four sons Dennis (Kim) Emerson of Rochester, Robert (April) Emerson of Kingston, Ga., Michael Emerson of Rochester, and Christopher Emerson of Winston-Salem, N.C., one brother Donald (Barbara) Emerson of Rochester, several grandchildren and great - grandchildren.
