DOVER - Robert "Dano" Howard, 87, of Dover died Friday November 19, 2021 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

Dano was born In Trosper, Ken., July 29th, 1934, the son of John and Anna (Shaheen) Howard. He was a lifelong resident of Dover and graduated from Dover High School in 1952.

In 1959 He married the love of his life, Phyllis M. Howard (Stackpole) and they recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. They had eight children together, Anthony James Howard, Jason John Howard, Ann Ethel Howard-Burke, Joachim Henry Howard, Margaret Raylene Howard, Andrew Paul Howard, Katie Maureen Howard, and Amanda Mary Howard, who passed away in 1977. They have 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In 1960 Dano joined the Dover Police Department where he served the community of Dover for 20 years. After retiring from the Dover Police Department in 1980, Dano worked at Ross Furniture in Dover, where he had previously worked part time since 1962, until 2018.

Other members of Dano's family are Jason's wife Tina Howard (Roy), Ann's Husband Kevin Burke, Joachim's wife Lisa Howard (Clark), Andrew's wife Kathy Howard (Noone), his sister Alice Fletcher (Howard), his sister Beverly LePage, who predeceased him in 2018, his brother Roland ("Willy") Howard, who predeceased him in 1999, his sister in-law, Joanie Howard, and many nieces and nephews.
