DOVER - Robert E. Hynes, 93, doed peacefully on a sun filled day with a soft breeze, Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Watson Fields in Dover. He was surrounded by his children . Born on May 24, 1930 in Worcester MA, Robert was the son of the late Johnnie and Anne (Bolton) Hynes.

A Worcester Native, Robert attended St, John's Prep. Following graduation, he went on to Boston University for 2 years interrupted by the Korean Conflict where he served honorably in the Army from 1950-1952 . He graduated from Boston University in 1954. Upon many management positions across the country he worked for 30 years retiring as Vice President of Davidson Textron.

Robert served on the Wentworth Douglas Hospital Board of Trustees. The Governors's Advisory Council on Worker's Compensation. The Dover Industrial Development Authority. A Hearings Officer for the, Workers Compensation Appeals Board, State of NH. He spent 60 + years as a member of Cochecho Country Club.

Throughout his life, Robert was known for many golf trips with friends. Robert went on many family trips, skiing into his 90s. He loved to share stories and songs with all of his younger family members. He could often be found enjoying a round of golf at the Cochecho Country Club, he got his last hole in one at age 90.

Roberts sense of humor was infectious. His love of family was unwavering.

Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary (Attridge) Hynes, brother, John "Jack" Hynes; and his grandson, Corey Hickman.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Eileen Hickman, and husband, Dale, of Rochester, Brian Hynes, and girlfriend, Patti Belanger, of Dover, and Kelly Callan, and husband, Rob, of Dover; siblings, William "Bill" Hynes, of Massachusetts, and Francis Hynes of Florida; grandchildren, Shannon Plante, and her husband Jordan, Colin Hickman and his girlfriend Laura Sabine, and Joani Callan; and great-grandchildren, Logan Hickman, Parker Hickman, and Phoenix Plante.
