BARRINGTON - Robert P George of Anastasia Lane died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at the Dover Center for Health & Rehabilitation.

Robert was born Jan. 1, 1949, in Dover to James and Pauline (Norton) George. He is survived by his sister Nina Cooper and husband James from Peabody, Mass.; brother James George and wife Judy from Valencia, Calif.; brother Dennis George and wife Sue of Sanford, Maine; His children Tammy Carl & partner Mike Healey of Farmington; Christine Smith & partner Michael Tanguay of Rochester; son Robert J George of Kittery, ME; and Stepdaughter Katherine & husband Kurt Sebastian of Carlsbad, CA. Grandchildren Krystal Brown, Ryan Carl, Brandon Carl, Hannah Smith & Christian Smith. Great grandchildren Isabelle & Katey Brown. As well as his many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated Spaulding High School in 1967 and received a certification from Portsmouth Technical College for underwater welding. Robert was employed by General Electric in Somersworth working at both the Somersworth and Dover facilities. Leaving GE he went to work for Collins & Aikman until his retirement. During this time, he volunteered as a firefighter for the Barrington Fire Department, reaching the rank of Captain. Robert also worked for Safety Clean, Frito-Lay and Bath Fitters but took the most pride in helping his family and friends with anything he could.

Robert loved attending car shows and races at the New England Dragway. He loved animals, especially his most loyal companions, Snickers & Miley. In his younger years he found happiness fishing, hunting, camping, boating and fast cars. With his first moose permit, he claimed a 900 lb bull, whose antlers he proudly kept.
