ROCHESTER - Robert J. Duffy, 83, of Rochester died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in Manchester. He was born Nov. 23, 1930 in Dover, the son of Peter J. and Ethel M. (Lunk) Duffy.

Bob attended Dover schools and upon graduation joined the Navy, where he was a cook aboard the destroyer the USS Rush. In civilian life he was a patternmaker, Industrial Arts teacher and had his own business as Property Management, Wallpapering & Painting. The last five years he enjoyed his weekend job with Securitas as a greeter at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester.

Bob was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Club Victoire and VFW.

Bob is survived by his longtime companion, Sally Allen, her five children and grandchildren; his ex-wife Connie Ayer Duffy and their four children: Michael and Stephen Duffy, Jeanne Maher and Patricia Stegman; his grandchildren: Jameson, Aidan, Brenton and Anna Duffy, and Erin and Andrew Maher; and two brothers, Bernard and Peter Duffy

He was predeceased by his sisters Ethel Davin, Esther Blanchette and Rose Parnham, two brothers Thomas (Burge) and Bill Duffy.
