STRAFFORD - Robert J. Lovering, 69, of Second Crown Point Road died Wednesday Feb.19, 2020 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family, after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 30, 1950 in Manchester, the son of Elizabeth (Sheldon) Lovering and the late Richard Lovering. He grew up in the Kittery, Maine, area and was a graduate of Traip Academy in 1969. He had resided in Strafford for the past 33 years. Robert served in the Navy and retired from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard after 30 years of service as a rigger. He enjoyed hunting, archery, hockey and video gaming.

Members of his family include his wife of 36 years, Terry Towle; his mother, Elizabeth Lovering; son, Ian Lovering and his girlfriend Elena Morton; daughter, Kelly Kern and her wife Kristin Kern; grandchildren, Liam, Kaiden and Owen Lovering and Cyrus Kern; brother, Andrew Lovering and his wife Kathie and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Rick Lovering and Thomas Lovering.
