FALMOUTH, Maine - Robert Marsh Jr. of Falmouth, died with his family at his side on March 2 at Pinnacle Health & Rehab in North Berwick. He was 91 years old.

Robert was born May 29, 1931, in Rochester, N.H., the oldest son of Robert Marsh Sr. and Louise (Page) Marsh. Robert graduated from Spaulding High School, class of 1949. He attended Dartmouth College, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire. He met his wife, Pat, at a dance in Sanbornville, N.H., and they went on to be married for 67 years.

Robert was a Certified Public Accountant until his retirement in 1997. He took great pride in his profession, and was a past president of the Maine chapter of the AICPA.

One of Robert's favorite pastimes was sailing. He spent many summers sailing on Milton Three Ponds, and on the ocean in his boat, Resolute. He also had a great love for flower gardening and had beautiful gardens in Falmouth, and at his camp in Milton. In later years he enjoyed creating half hulls, several of which adorn the walls of his summer home.

One of Robert's favorite places to be was at Milton Three Ponds, a location that five generations of family have enjoyed. He and his wife, Pat, loved to have family gatherings there. They took great joy in seeing their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play on the beach and swim.

Robert is survived by his daughter Kathleen Prewitt and son-in-law R. Clay Prewitt; four grandchildren: Kyle Prewitt and his wife Inmei, Michael Prewitt, Matthew Prewitt, and Danielle Bubar; five great grandchildren: Caleb, Cole, Hazel, Brian, and Lincoln; sister-in-law Barbara Marsh; sister-in-law Jean Marsh; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia; his son Robert Marsh III; his son Jeffrey Marsh; and his brothers: Rolland Marsh and Richard Marsh.
