Rochester Candidates Forum for City Council races set for Oct. 9

ROCHESTER - A Candidates' Forum for candidates seeking election or re-election to Mayor and the Rochester City Council will be held at Rochester City Hall on Oct. 9.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Rochester City Hall in the City Council Chambers at 31 Wakefield St. All ward council candidates and mayoral candidates have been invited to attend and present their positions to the audience and answer questions from a panel of media representatives and the public.

Beginning around 7:45 pm, Mayor Caroline McCarley, who is uncontested, will present her position and answer questions from a media panel and the public on several important local issues facing Rochester.

The forum, which is sponsored by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, will be televised live and taped by the Rochester Government Channel. It will be rebroadcast several times prior to Election Day.

The Candidate Forum is open to the public and admission is free. The Chamber encourages the public to submit questions on local issues for the candidates during the live broadcast. During the forum, questions can be called in to 603-335-7557 and will be asked of the candidates as time permits. Questions for candidates can also be emailed any time prior to, or during the forum, to forum@rochesternh.net.

The Candidate Forum for Mayor and City Council is a community service provided by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Council to provide an opportunity for the public to learn where candidates stand on important issues facing Rochester.
