ROCHESTER - The Rochester Fair signaled its heralded return to the city a bit early on Sunday, winning Best of Parade for its float depicting its iconic history.

The float, entered as part of the parade's Organizational Division, took top honors in a parade that saw thousands of enthusiastic Yuletide revelers line the streets of Rochester from Spaulding High to the Common.

"It was my favorite," said Sara Higgins Cantrell of the Rochester Fair float on the fair's Facebook page late Sunday.

In the Commercial Division, first place went to Tri-City Subaru, while Broadview Animal Hospital took second and First City Cars & Trucks came in third.

The theme of this year's parade was "A Hometown Christmas" and entries were invited to decorate their floats with the theme.
