Rochester fugitive taken into custody at gunpoint

CONCORD - A Rochester man sought by police and a fugitive task force was taken into custody in Somersworth Wednesday, according to a press release from U.S. Marshals.

Craig Robert Wiggin, 43, with a last known address in Rochester, was wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including bail violations on an original charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, failure to maintain his sex offender registration, and operating a motor vehicle after revocation or suspension.

After Wiggin was featured as a recent "Fugitive of the Week," a lot of tips were received pointing to locations in both New Hampshire and Maine, including recent information provided to the Somersworth Police Department he was in and around the Somersworth, the Marshal's Office stated in the release.

Officers spotted Wiggin in a car Wednesday evening, and the vehicle was stopped by multiple officers from the Somersworth Police Department. Wiggin was ordered from the car at gunpoint and was arrested without incident, according to task force officials.

After being processed at the Somersworth Police Department, Wiggin was transported to the Strafford County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearances on multiple charges.
